A LIST OF POTENTIAL LOGOS FOR THE PRODUCTION COMPANIES THAT COULD BE USED IN MY TEASER TRAILER.

In this post I have researched into the type of production companies that would distribute my film. I went on to google and found several images that I thought would be right sort of companies to distribute my film.

After looking through many production logos for the same type of genre that my film is, I have gained a clearer picture of what companies would be right to produce mine. Something that I have noticed is that although independent films might produce a great film, a mainstream company could pick it up for distribution which why some of them prove to be such a success.

Poltegiest.

Poltegiest

Costume – Costume is normal, the family are wearing what they usually would wear that doesn’t indicate genre.
Setting – A quiet neighbourhood happens in a house, sets the genre up straight away – Horror.
Lighting – Lighting changes when the little girl starts getting possessed, lighting is dark and this makes the atmosphere scarier. Lighting in the 2nd half of the trailer is darker.
Figure behaviour – The families figure behaviour changes when things start to go wrong with them.
Music – Music starts of all sweet and changes when things seem to go wrong.

Insidious.

Insidious
Costume – Man wear a suit, women wearing sophisticated clothing.
Setting –
In a house.

Props –
Pen and paper, writing down what has happened to this boy they are examining or that’s what we first think, towards the end of the trailer it is a bizarre picture. The fan is spinning indicating that maybe something is going to happen with the fan.

Lighting –
Lighting is dark throughout the trailer.

Figure behaviour –
The families figure behaviour starts of very wary, indicating to us something is going to go wrong. Facial expression of the women and man is cagy.

Music –
No music is used, this is because it creates mystery for the audience, making the trailer scary.

Amity Ville Horror.

Amity Ville Horror

<>  <><>   <>
Costume – A man wearing black with his back towards us facing the house, possibly someone sinister.
Setting – A house that appears to stand alone, isolated - typical of the horror genre.
Props – Montage of Newspapers indicating what has happened previously. Picture of a boy who possibly was involved. Cigarette is used at the beginning in the montage of newspapers and the man appears to be smoking a cigarette when facing the house.
Lighting – Low Key Lighting is used to create a dark, uneasy and menacing atmosphere.
Figure behaviour – The man’s figure behaviour is rather unusual, he looks like he has power and he gives of a sinister look.
Music – It is slow paced which creates a mysterious atmosphere – typical of the genre.

Exorcist.

Exorcist

Costume – Man wearing a top hat with a brief case and a suit, can’t see his face, indicated the horror genre and that he is a sinister figure. Setting – A house, very dark and unsettling. House is quite isolated indicating the horror genre.     Lighting – Low key lighting, very dark creating a scary atmosphere. Figure behaviour – Man standing up tall with a high status, indicates the genre. Flashes of images of a girl in black and white with a creepy smile on her face indicated the horror factor.
Music – The music is quite creepy and mysterious – typical of the genre.  Later in the trailer music  becomes quite sharp and snappy as the images flash on screen. This shows us that something bad is happening.

Paranormal Activity 1.

In the next few posts I have looked at exisiting teaser trailers, and analysed them in terms of genre conventions, as I am doing horror I thought the following teaser trailers would help me gain a better understanding of what is found in specific teaser trailers in terms of genre.

Paranormal Activity 1

Costume – The couple are wearing normal clothes, but the fact that they are so normal indicates that something is going to happen, especially in this house.
Setting – Set in a house with a camcorder filming them creating the scare factor.
Props – Camcorder, this indicates the horror genre, because it is something that is used quite often in horror movies because it creates a spooky atmosphere, creating mystery.
Lighting – The lighting throughout the trailer is on and off, at night the lights are off which makes it even scarier when something happens.
Figure behaviour –
The couple’s figure behaviour change when they realise something is there, things start to tense up and become a little bit scarier.
Music- Not much music, but when something creepy happens there is a huge impact sound
